It’s heartbreaking to know how cruel humans can be. Even adults these days will hide behind their keyboards and happily bully complete strangers.
But just a few weeks after Ethan and Ahren Masters were born, it became very clear that these identical twins had a few differences.
Little Ethan’s mom must have been terrified when she saw that an angry red birthmark began to spread all over his little face. But instead of being supportive or helpful, people called the little baby a “monster,” and even accused their mother of burning his face.
As if things couldn’t have gotten worse, one day the little boy’s mom heard him wheezing and struggling to breath. It turned out that this birthmark was moving down into his windpipe and began to obstruct his breathing!
The doctors had to make emergency surgery, but they had another option. Though it was a new therapy, it seemed like using beta blockers might actually help. Usually meant for high blood pressure, these drugs might help save little Ethan’s life.

When identical twinsEthan and Ahren Masters were born back in 2009, everything seemed perfectly normal and both boys seemed totally healthy.
But just a few weeks later, Ethan’s parents began to grow very concerned when they saw a small red birthmark suddenly begin to grow and spread across their baby’s little face.
As the mark grew, it even went into his ear canal and covered more and more of his face.
Suddenly, evil bullies and strangers were calling him a “monster,” and even accused mom of burning his face and trying to cover it up by lying about it being a birthmark.
What began as a scary concern about how the baby looked suddenly became life threatening.
Mom noticed her little boy struggling to breath one day, and she must have been horrified to learn that the birthmark was making its way down her baby’s airways. He was fighting to breath and could potentially die.
So Ethan’s parents had to make an incredibly hard choice: do they let doctors perform an invasive operation on their newborn, or do they give him pillsthat are usually for people with heart problems or high blood pressure?
They chose the pills and hoped for the best.
Amazingly, just a few weeks later, Ethan’s birthmark totally disappeared and never came back.
Now, 7 years later, Ethan and his twin brotherAhren are inseparable, and though they had to spend the first few months of their lives apart from each other, things these days are about as perfect as you could ask for!
